The 2019 Toyota Yaris subcompact car is the most affordable car in the Toyota lineup. As the brand’s entry-level model, the Toyota Yaris is small, efficient, and fun to drive — and still comes with important safety and entertainment features.

You can test drive the 2019 Toyota Yaris at Bert Ogden Toyota in Harlingen, Texas, across three trim levels: L, LE, and XLE.

Powertrain and Performance

The 2019 Toyota Yaris is powered by a peppy 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. This engine may be small, but it packs a powerful punch, serving up 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque.

When mated to the six-speed manual transmission, this engine achieves 30 mpg in city, 39 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg combined.* Opt for the six-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode, and fuel economy improves to 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.*

The 2019 Yaris boasts a MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension for smoother, more agile driving.

Interior Design

Though the Toyota Yaris is an economy car, the interior has hints of luxury you’d expect to find in more expensive vehicles. That includes contoured sport seats, piano-black accents for the air vents and center console, chrome touches throughout, and steering wheel-mounted controls. XLE trims even add leather points to the shift knob, parking brake, and steering wheel. The XLE trim includes leatherette seating surfaces, too.

Every 2019 Yaris comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with voice recognition and Bluetooth® connectivity. LE and XLE trims come standard with the Smart Key System and Push Button Start while all trims come standard with SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and two USB ports. Auto climate control comes standard on XLE models.

Safety Technology

Despite its size, the 2019 Toyota Yaris is incredibly safe thanks to its standard Low-Speed Pre-Collision System and advanced Active Safety System, which includes Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Dynamic Stability Control, a Traction Control System, and Anti-lock Brake System, and a Brake Override System. The Toyota Yaris even comes with rain-sensing windshield wipers on the XLE trim and standard ToyotaCare across trims, including two years or 25,000 miles of 24-hour roadside assistance and no-cost maintenance for the same duration of time.

Subcompact cars are as fun and affordable as ever. Check out the Yaris at Bert Ogden Toyota to see why.
