V8 Power — Standard
If you want relentless V8 engine power in the 2021 F-150, you will have to spring for a higher-level trim. But for the 2021 Tundra, the V8 engine comes standard across the lineup. Specifically, that’s the 5.7-liter aluminum i-FORCE V8 engine with DOHC 32-valve cylinder heads. This engine boasts Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and cranks out 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The standard V6 on the F-150, on the other hand, doesn’t compete with the Tundra, putting out just 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
Safety Features
The Toyota Tundra also comes with more standard safety features than the Ford F-150. In fact, the Toyota Tundra comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense™ P, which includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams, and Lane Departure Alert.
Other Highlights
The Tundra also comes with two years of ToyotaCare maintenance and roadside assistance coverage; there is no comparable coverage for the F-150. In addition, the 2021 Toyota Tundra does better at resale time than the 2021 Ford F-150, largely thanks to its higher reliability. Standard wheels are also bigger on the Tundra; they’re 18 inches compared to the 17-inch wheels on the F-150.
